The Benois Family Museum was opened in September, 1988. The initiative of its creation belongs to the outstanding theatrical artist, honourable member of Academy of applied arts USSR Nikolai A. Benois. The large help in formation of the collection was rendered also by other members of this art dynasty, various organizations and private persons.

The assembly of the museum enables to get acquainted with a wide spectrum of the phenomena of culture of XIX-XXth centuries. The drawings and architecture, theatre and decorative art, sculpture, painting and cinema, music and literature - in development of all these kinds of art Benois have brought the worthy contribution.
